The project for the distribution of hygiene kits for women with disabilities was a humanitarian initiative by the Palestinian General Union of People with Disabilities and was implemented from August 28 to 30, 2024. Its aim was to meet the basic hygiene and health needs of women with disabilities in a challenging humanitarian situation.
Thanks to funding from HCI – Help & Charity International, which had collected the donations, a total of 120 hygiene kits could be distributed, 100 of which were in refugee and displacement camps and 20 at the Union’s headquarters. The distribution took place daily between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and was coordinated and supervised by specially deployed teams.
Each kit contained hygiene articles, basic medical equipment, skincare products, as well as protective masks and disinfectants. Despite significant challenges in procuring materials due to market shortages and security risks, the project was successfully completed.
The initiative significantly contributed to improving the health and living conditions of the beneficiaries and provided important insights for optimizing future programs.
