The project “Water Distribution (Distribution of a Gallon)” was a humanitarian aid initiative by the Palestinian General Union of People with Disabilities, aimed at providing clean drinking water to people in emergency situations. The focus was on people with disabilities and other particularly vulnerable groups.
In humanitarian emergencies, the Union’s internal legal framework allowed for direct awards without traditional tender procedures to ensure rapid assistance. Suppliers were selected based on clear criteria such as legal registration, financial capacity, and proven experience in the humanitarian sector.
Thanks to funding from HCI – Help & Charity International, which collected the donations, the project could be implemented. The project involved the provision and distribution of water in gallons according to a defined needs and distribution plan. Quantities, specifications, and logistical procedures were defined in corresponding performance documents.
The project significantly contributed to safeguarding the health of those affected, providing rapid crisis relief, and strengthening human dignity and social solidarity within the community.
